Early June- From Broome to Purnululu NP (The Bungle Bungles)

We took a few days to travel the 800+ kilometres and stayed at some magic camps along the way. We saw our first croc at a camp on the Fitzroy River, so poor Jakey had to spend most of the time on her long lead. She was less than impressed as the water was so close! I wouldn’t have coped with her becoming a mouthful.

We then camped out at Leycesters Rest on the Ord River, so we could head into Purnululu NP the next day. The road in was 4WD only and took an hour and a half over many, many creek crossings, some corrugations, a couple of truly rough and skinny bits and Shan channelled his inner rally driver. Handled it like an absolute pro and I was scared only a couple of times.

Once again, the visitor’s centre proved invaluable in advising us of Felicity Friendly places to see. We only had a limited time plus travel so we couldn’t see a lot. Luckily, all the best spots to see were easily accessible for me. Seriously, it was just stunning, so I’m going to let my photos speak for themselves.
